NNPC/Chevron JV National University Scholarship Award Eligibility
We invite e-applications from the following candidates:
1. Full-time, SECOND YEAR (200 LEVEL) degree students pursuing any of the following courses in Nigerian Universities: (Note: These candidates should be admitted in the 2021/2022 academic session. Please verify your academic session before proceeding with the application)
- Accountancy
- Agricultural Science
- Architecture
- Business Administration/Economics
- Computer Science
- Environmental Studies/Surveying
- Geology/Geophysics/Geo-Informatics

- Mass Communication/Journalism
- Engineering
- Dentistry
- Pharmacy

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Possess a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.5 in a 5.0 grade system or its equivalent in other grade systems.
- Hold a minimum of six O-level credits in a single sitting.
2. Additionally, the NNPC/Chevron Joint Venture offers scholarships specifically designed for blind/visually impaired SECOND-YEAR (200 LEVEL) degree students studying any course in Nigerian Universities.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Have a minimum CGPA of 2.5 in a 5.0-grade system or its equivalent in other grade systems.
- Possess a minimum of five O-level credits.
Kindly note that applicants for the NNPC/CNL JV scholarship cannot apply for any other scholarship program sponsored by Chevron Nigeria Limited, its Joint Venture Partners, or any of its affiliates, including the Agbami scholarship program that runs concurrently with the NNPC/CNL JV scholarship program.
The application is exclusively open to full-time SECOND-YEAR (200 LEVEL) students admitted during the 2021/2022 academic session. Please verify your academic session before proceeding with the application.

Before initiating your application, ensure you have clear scanned copies of the following documents:
- Recent passport photograph (not older than 6 months, 450px by 450px, and not exceeding 200kb)
- School ID card
- Admission Letter
- Birth Certificate
- O’ Level Result
- JAMB Result
- Local Government Area Letter of Identification
How to Apply for NNPC/Chevron JV National University Scholarship Award
To apply, follow the steps below:
- Click on the “Apply Now” tab.
- Create an account by clicking on “Register Now.”
- Proceed to your email inbox to activate your account.
- Return to the Scholarship site by clicking on https://candidate.scholastica.ng/schemes/2023CNLawards.
- Enter your registered email and password to upload your information.
- Provide your personal information, National Identification Number (if available), educational details, and other relevant information, and upload the required scanned documents.
- Ensure the names used in the application match the names on all accompanying documents in the same order. If not, please upload a sworn affidavit or certificate.
- Review all uploaded documents to avoid errors during the uploading process.
- When prompted to upload a photo, ensure you upload a passport photograph with a white background.
- Carefully recheck all application information to avoid errors.
- Go to “Active Scholarships,” select the desired scheme, and click “Apply Now” to submit your information.
- Upon successful submission, you will receive a notification on the screen and via email. To confirm, check “My Application” under the “My Account” section in your profile.
- Return to www.scholastica.ng, enter your email and password to download your profile. Then, proceed to have your Head of Department sign the document.
- Upload a scanned copy of the signed profile, which will be used for verification.
- If you did not have a National Identification Number (NIN) during Step 6, visit http://ninenrol.gov.ng to register and obtain your NIN.
- Create an account and complete the required fields.
- Log in with your email and password to finalize the form.
- After completion, schedule a date for photo and fingerprint capture.
- Visit any of the 37 capture centers (http://www.nimc.gov.ng/?q=nin-registration-centres) to finalize the registration process and obtain your National Identity Number.
- You may also complete your registration at the NIMC office.
- Return to www.scholastica.ng and update your application with your National Identification Number (NIN) to ensure completion.
Note: Submitting multiple applications may result in disqualification from the Scholarship board.
Please be informed that we will only accept applications through the provided web address. Hard copies of any submitted documents will not be processed. We kindly advise all interested students to click on the “How to Apply” tab for further guidance.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- Only applications submitted through this web portal will be considered.
- SCHOLASTICA is the official platform for the NNPC/CNL JV National University Scholarship program.
- There will be no computer-based test. Selection of successful candidates will be based on a combination of academic indices from the submitted credentials.
- All interested students must provide accurate and complete information.
- Applicants for the NNPC/CNL JV National University Scholarship award program cannot apply for any other scholarship program sponsored by Chevron Nigeria Limited (CNL), its Joint Venture partner, Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC), or any of its affiliates.
- Applicants and successful candidates are not required to make any payments. The application for the 2023 NNPC/CNL JV National University Scholarship program is free.
- Please note that we do not accept applications via email.
- CNL does not assign representatives or agents to assist with the application process.
- Any candidate found to have submitted false documents will be disqualified or withdrawn at any stage of the scholarship process.
- If awarded the scholarship, transferring the offer to another university or course of study is not permissible.
